All trends of furniture industry at Mebel 2017

Expocentre Fairgrounds hosts the 29th edition of the Mebel International Exhibition for Furniture, Fittings and Upholstery, the largest furniture trade show in Russia and Eastern Europe.

The show is organized by Expocentre AO with support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Russian Export Center AO, Union of Architects of Russia, and under auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Assistance is provided by the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Associations of Russia, and the Russian Union of Timber Manufacturers and Exporters.

“The exhibition keeps developing. This year its space has grown 10,000 sq m to become 78,000 sq m total,” said General Director of Expocentre Sergey Bednov at the official opening ceremony. He also informed that Mebel 2017 welcomed 767 companies from 28 countries. National pavilions are arranged by Germany and the Republic of Korea.

The majority of exhibitors (630) are Russian companies. Russian regional and local governments pay more and more attention to the show and support their furniture manufacturers. This year the Kirov, Ulyanovsk and Kostroma oblasts, Krasnodar krai, Udmurt and Mari El republics have group stands. 

The show’s product sectors cover all sectors and trends of the furniture industry including furniture for bedrooms, dining, sitting and living rooms, children’s rooms, kitchens, upholstered furniture, fittings, finishing materials and various interior items. This year Mebel introduces the Salon of Furniture Franchises.     

President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin called Mebel one of the most popular trade shows under the umbrella the chambers of commerce in the Russian regions. According to Mr. Katyrin, Mebel 2017 brought together furniture enterprises from all over Russia to showcase and take part in 31 supporting events.
