The Exhibition Mebel’2013 Showcased Modern Trends and Designer Solutions

Over 800 companies from 38 countries, including world’s leading brands, took part in the main event of the furniture market in Russia and Eastern Europe – the 25th anniversary exhibition Mebel’2013. They showcased the latest collections and the best items of furniture fashion as well as the newest materials, interior décor and décor items, original designer developments.

All pavilions of Expocentre ZAO were occupied during the exhibition period. The exhibition space exceeded 40,000 net sq m.

Companies from Belarus, China, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia and Turkey were represented with their national pavilions.

A combination of manufactured furniture and components for its manufacture enabled the exhibiting companies to solve a lot of related tasks for business development on the same platform at the same time.

This year the organizers of the show divided the exposition area into 7 thematic zones again: Style / Classic and contemporary furniture from across the world; Comfort / Residential upholstered and cabinet furniture, upholstery materials; Components / Furniture fittings and components for furniture manufacture; Office / Office and commercial furniture; Kitchen / World of furniture: furniture, household appliances and accessories: Dream / Mattresses and fillers; Décor / Furniture and interior décor items.

A large number of the specialists who visited the exhibition is a testimony to its mission as a professional forum consolidating the furniture community. Owing to a large share of foreign participation, the show contributed to the extension of cooperation between world-known designers and furniture manufacturers and their Russian colleagues as well as the largest customers in Moscow and Russian regions

Throughout five days the participants could attend conferences, seminars, round-table discussions, master-classes, competitions where they shared news, discussed professional issues and trends of the furniture market and its prospects.

The 7th Forum of Directors Furniture as a Business has become one of the key events of the Mebel’2013 Exhibition.

In the frames of the events programme there was the Meeting of the Executive Council of the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia.

Speaking of the meaning of that exhibition forum, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Georgy Kalamanov particularly noted that “the Mebel’2013 exhibition contributes to the competitive growth of Russian furniture manufacturers, development of the country’s furniture market and increase in the export potential of the industry”.
