Efficiency in Today’s Environment at Expocentre on the initiative of the Association of Russian Furniture and Timber Enterprises.
Young employees of timber and furniture companies, restoration workshops, and students of industry schools of Moscow, Sakhalin, and Lipetsk took part in the competition and demonstrated their skillsets in three competences, namely "Furniture manufacturing", "Restoration of wooden items", and "Woodworking".
Diplomas and memorable gifts were presented to the championship winners at the award ceremony. They were warmly greeted by General Director of the Association of Russian Furniture and Timber Enterprises Timur Irtuganov. "Those who can make a product with their hands and who can make this product with maximum quality and relevance are the pillars of the furniture industry in modern Russia. That is why it is so important to have a sufficient number of trained people. Most furniture enterprises across Russia have labour shortage. Hopefully, this championship will be a stepping stone for personnel training in our industry. The championship is a perfect venue to exchange practices and achieve professional development," he said.
The competition winners will be included in the national WorldSkills team in the "Furniture manufacturing" competence. Some of them will take part in EuroSkills Graz 2020 and WorldSkills Shanghai 2021.
