Golden Cabriole winners are awarded

The award ceremony of the 17th Golden Cabriole National Award for Industrial Furniture Design, the most authoritative award in the Russian furniture industry, took place at the Mebel 2022 International Exhibition at Expocentre Fairgrounds. The competition was organised by the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia, the Russian Union of Designers and EXPOCENTRE AO.

Golden Cabriole is Russia's only national award in the field of industrial furniture design. The competition was first held in 2005. Since then, more than 1,600 Russian furniture companies have taken part in the competition. The Golden Cabriole competition helps to increase the competitiveness of furniture products, to promote Russian companies and designers. 

This year, the experts selected the best of the best in the furniture industry in five nominations: Cabinet Furniture, Upholstered Furniture, Furniture for Public Spaces, Kitchen Furniture and Future Stars. 

The competition for the Golden Cabriole award was attended by Russian furniture manufacturers, practitioners in the field of design, and students of vocational educational institutions.

The jury evaluated the works according to a number of criteria - originality, novelty of design and product design; functional, ergonomic and environmental qualities of the product and its compliance with the modern attitude to saving resources and protecting the environment; high consumer quality and competitiveness of the product; the use of innovative materials and technologies.

The winner in the Cabinet Furniture category was PK Angstrem. The winner in the Kitchen Furniture category was DMI RUS. Azimut (Pushe) won in the Upholstered Furniture category. ORIMEX won in the Public Spaces Furniture nomination. Kovalenko Yulia Antonovna (Stieglitz St. Petersburg State Academy of Arts and Industry) won the Golden Cabriole Laureate Diploma in the Future Stars nomination.
